With a prolific career spanning more than four decades, thousands of songs and more than 30 albums, Mohamad Abdo is a master beyond compare. Known as ‘The Artist of the Arabs’, Saudi Arabia’s most revered musician is celebrated by legions of dedicated fans for his preservation of mawrouth (the inherited songs). A legend and visionary whose significance resounds across the region and internationally, he has a particularly storied connection with the UAE – first performing in the early ‘70s at the behest of the late Sheikh Zayed. Witness this historic talent with an ensemble of musicians from across the Arab world.

Biography

Mohamed Abdo is a master beyond compare. Known as ‘The Artist of the Arabs’ – a name given to him by the Tunisian President Bourguiba, one of his admirers – Abdo is Saudi Arabia’s most revered musician.

His music career began in the early 1960s, at a very young age, and his first hit came in 1968, garnering him huge acclaim not only in Saudi Arabia but also in Lebanon and Egypt. Since these lauded beginnings, he has played a central role in the introduction of Khaleeji music to Arab audiences, transforming regional tastes and sustaining the music’s relevance into the 21st Century.

Today, he is celebrated by legions of dedicated fans for his preservation of mawrouth (the inherited songs), consistently selling out arena shows and headlining festivals across the Middle East.

Some of his greatest known albums include Al Amaken, Al Hawa Al Ghayeb, Mouzhila, Shabeeh El Rih, Al Rimsh Al Tawil, Al Borwaz, Aallamtouha, Majmouat Insan and Wahdak.
